Mode of Action and uses
Atrazine is a triazine selective systemic herbicide absorbed principally through the roots, but also through the foliage, translocated acropetally in the xylem and accumulated in the apical meristems and leaves.
It is used in Pre- and post-emergence control of annual broad-leaved weeds and annual grasses in maize, sorghum, sugar cane, pineapples, chemical fallow, grassland, conifers, industrial weed control, etc.

Atrazine binds to the plastoquinone-binding protein in photosystem II, inhibiting electron transport.
