Chlorothalonil is a non-systemic fungicide with a protective action (fungistasis and fungicidal action). Antiresistance strategy.

Site of action

Multisite action: conjugation with, and depletion of, thiols (particularly glutathione), form germinating fungal cells, leading to the disruption of glycolysis and energy production.

Foliar.

Oomycetes (downy mildew), ascomycetes, (Septoria spp., Scab, Cercospora spp.), Fungi imperfecti (Fusarium spp.), etc.
