Mode of action

Atrazine is a thiotriazine selective systemic herbicide absorbed principally through the roots, but also through the foliage, translocated acropetally in the xylem and accumulated in the apical meristems and leaves.

Site of action

Atrazine binds to the plastoquinone-binding protein in photosystem II, inhibiting electron transport.

Timing

Pre-plant incorporated, Pre and post Pre-emergence.

Target

Broad-leaved weeds and grasses.
