Simazine is a thiotriazine selective systemic herbicide absorbed principally through the roots, but also through the foliage, translocated acropetally in the xylem and accumulated in the apical meristems and leaves.
Site of action
Simazine binds to the plastoquinone-binding protein in photosystem II, inhibiting electron transport.
