Mode of action

Clomazone is a selective systematic herbicide, absorbed by the roots and shoots and translocated upward.

Site of action

Pro-herbicide that must be metabolized to 5-ketoclomazone, which is the active compound that inhibits deoxyxylulose 5-phosphate synthase, a key enzyme of the non-mevalonate isoprenoid pathway.

Timing

Pre-plant incorporated, Pre-emergence.

Target

Broad-leaved weeds and grasses.
